This house, designed for three brothers and their families, is built on a 200 square yard plot. Here, expertise has been employed to harmoniously intertwine the order of Vastu with the function of the spaces across a span of four floors- two as per Vastu, and two as per the right functions of space design. The location of the toilets changed on alternate floors, and the false ceilings were handled skillfully to attain a maximum height and a feeling of volume.

 

A natural and earthy vibe envelops the maintenance-free exterior, designed with brick and stone cladding. The green railings add an additional rustic touch.

 

Three of the floors for the elders of the family were designed with clean lines and neutral colour schemes to house the various pieces of furniture and artefacts procured by the clients over the years.

 

The third floor, for the younger members of the family, is marked by interiors reflecting their spirit, spunk and spontaneity. The tiles across the corridor are a visually- appealing riot of muted, multicoloured hues, and set the character for the entire floor.

 

The top floor kitchen roof was opened to provide a skylight and assures a flood of natural light through the middle of the house.

 

The staircase, clad in white Indian stone, effortlessly brightens up an otherwise dark space. The natural green Indian marble on the lift wall carries forward the green colour scheme of the railings in the exterior.

 

The basement has been provided with cutouts to allow in a stream of both light and ventilation. It serves as a large, open hall for gatherings with family and friends. It also has the flexibility to be converted to an office in the future.

 

The various toilets have been designed tastefully, in tune with the choices of the occupants in the adjoining rooms.

 

The four kitchens across the floors have been done by SPICEWOOD, fitting all the functions of a spacious yet aesthetic kitchen space.

 

Square windows and niches in brick, stone and glass, in complete congruence with one another, define the stilt entrance.

 

Overall, the project is an outcome of wonderful experiences, designed to exhilarate each and every member of this huge, loving family.
