The Triplex South Delhi Apartment

EARTHY & ECLECTIC

This DDA apartment was made into a triplex by merging a duplex with a simplex floor.

The entrance door has an artistic, natural stone mosaic around it, making the apartment door stand out amongst all the flats. The interiors of the house are characterized by contemporary lines, with accents of traditional Indian art. The house is warm, earthy and eclectic, reflecting the personalities of its occupants. Bright colored furnishing were used. The curtains, too, have beautiful Indian prints. The entire flooring is in teak wood parquet, giving the house a very rich, warm feel.

The feature wall in the living room was done in laser cut Gwalior stone and is highlighted by lights in the false ceiling.

The toilets are simple and elegant with a mix and match of Italian marble and mosaic tiles. Any unpleasant views around the apartment have been blocked by plants.

The two staircases have nooks for books and alcoves for artefacts. An interesting texture paint on the walls prevents any staining by the hands of all those traversing the stairs multiple times a day.

The kitchen on this floor was allocated to the bar, the center of all conversations. Exclusively made by Haute Monde, a leather furniture store, this rustic, antique leather bar has a backlit onyx stone top, with coordinated leather and stone seating next to it. The stained glass at the back blocks the unpleasant views beyond.

The small terrace, the highlight of the house, opens into the magnanimous Jahanpanah forest. It has been clad in maintenance free natural stone, interspersed with yellow, handmade tiles. The handmade heritage, Jaisalmer yellow Terrazzo tiles, on the floor complement the look.
